My son adores this bed. It was a great way to entice him to move into his “big boy” bed. We just skipped the toddler bed altogether and went straight from the crib into this one. Because there wasn’t room for a box spring, we had to get a piece of plywood to go underneath the mattress, so that was a bit of a pain. Otherwise, you could buy “bunkie board” but I think the plywood was cheaper. Things occasionally get stuck between the mattress and bedframe (like books, small toys) but my son loves this bed and it has storage up front under the “hood” that’s perfect for holding all his board games.
