I've owned countless numbers of humidifiers, which I've replaced after one or two seasons, for annoying reasons. On one of them, the fan motor became louder than my dishwasher. Another one leaked all over my hardwood floor, TWICE!, before I decided that it was a product problem, not user-error.

After doing a significant amount of research and comparsion online, I decided to buy this Venta humidifier.

I'm happy to say that I love it! It's only been 4 weeks, but those other humidifiers that eventually crapped out had already annoyed me (in some way), by this point.

--> It does truly add humidity to the air.
--> It's practically silent. Really.
--> It's easy to clean.
--> I run mine all day, and a full tank of water lasts a little over 24-hours.
--> The built-in humidistat (or whatever) seems to be accurate (when compared to an external hygrometer (thingy that measures humidity in a room (similar to what a thermometer does for temperature))
--> The output of moisture is adjustable.
--> For anyone who prefers warm mist, it supposedly can be switched to warm mist (I have not done that.)
--> With a '20%-Off' coupon at Bed Bath & Beyond, it was around $85 (with tax), instead of $100+
